The Heads of Missions of the SADC Electoral Observation Mission (SEOM), the Joint African Union and COMESA Election Observation Mission (AU – COMESA EOM) and the Francophonie Electoral Mission (FEM) invite the members of the national and international press based in Madagascar, for the release of their preliminary statements following the presidential election of 16 November 2023 in Madagascar.

They are H.E. Brigadier General Godfrey Miyanda, former Vice-President of the Republic of Zambia (SEOM), H.E. Mrs Catherine Samba-Panza, former Transitional President of the Central African Republic supported by Amb. Patrice Eugene Cure, Member of the COMESA Committee of Elders (Joint AU-COMESA EOM) and H.E. Micheline Calmy-Rey, former President of the Swiss Confederation (FEM).

The Republic of Madagascar held a presidential election on 16 November 2023. The SADC, AU, COMESA and La Francophonie deployed observers to the election.

The SADC, AU and COMESA, and La Francophonie election observation missions to the 16 November 2023 presidential election in Madagascar will share their preliminary findings with the media and the public in the country as well as the international community.

The press conference will be conducted in both the French and English languages.
